Define Normalcy.... [Sep. 9th, 2008|11:37 pm]
Seriously, when it gets to the point where I feel guilty for sleeping and eating...it's too much work, right?

Or is this normal for the professional world and I just need to get used to it or gtfo? =(

Living Here is Such an Adventure D8 [Sep. 8th, 2008|02:39 pm]
There is a huge film crew basically parked on the front steps of my dorm. My roommate said they're shooting for Lipstick Jungle. D8 If I perch on the fire escape I can basically look down on everything. XD I haven't seen, or rather I haven't recognized, any celebrities yet, but I'm really bad with that sort of thing so even if they're walking around down there I probably won't know who they are. D8

I Will Live Forever...Or At Least Never Live This Down [Aug. 26th, 2008|10:35 am]
Hey guys
remember that one time
I wrote that really bad fanfic?

("What do you mean 'that one time' Kiki, there were so many times" "...shhh")

I'm talking about that really corny, really cheesy, Seto Kaiba x Sailor Pluto (oh yeah baby, Yu-Gi-Oh x Sailor Moon crossovers ftw) romance fic. Oh yes. "Heart of the Cards, Heartsnatched." My greatest literary achievement to date, apparently. I discovered yesterday that despite having personally attempted to destroy all remaining copies from the face of the earth, record of its existence still lives on in the bowels of deviantART fanart...

BELIEVE IN THE HEART OF THE CARDS GUYSE LOLOLOL

I especially like the comment on the bottom:
"Oh man, that was one of my first fanfictions I ever read! Man, was it awesome! :D Nice work! :D "

I was tempted to comment with "LOL I WROTE THAT LOLOLOL" but decided that the best course of action was to deny knowing anything about it...rofl.

;slkfjs;lakf emoooo [Jul. 2nd, 2007|04:50 pm]
So, I've been in denial about this for over a year now, but I think the truth of the matter is that I just don't want to draw anymore. I don't know. I just don't want to draw anymore. Which is bad because I'm going to art school in less than two months.

I feel sick and tired all the time now. I don't like going to concerts anymore because standing makes my legs and feet hurt and I can't stay awake long enough to enjoy the headliner by the time they come on.

Sometimes I think, 'This is all because you're in a relationship and you've got to choose one or the other,' but I don't think that's true. I stopped wanting to draw right before we graduated and it never came back still hasn't come back yet.

I'm not really sure what to do. I just wish the want to draw would come back.

HA HA [Mar. 20th, 2007|12:24 am]
So, apparently Wizard magazine is listing MoCCA as one of the top five indie comic conventions in the U.S.

Which means.

I AM INDIE AFTER ALL, BITCHES.

EAT IT.

...Because, you know, Wizard magazine is really the source of authority on these matters, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Anyway, I got a kick out of that. In fact I think I'm going to make my slogan, "Twelfthgecko Press: Putting the 'indie' in 'independent publishing.'"

...On second thought, maybe not.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

selloutselloutsellout [Mar. 7th, 2007|11:13 pm]
[Current Mood | entrepreneurial]

Dude, me getting a CafePress account was the WORST IDEA EVER.

Because now I can make pins and postcards and stickers and greeting cards and notebooks and posters and tote ba-- *gets slapped*

At this rate, I'm going to have a sheeeetload of merchandise for comics that never got finished. "Well, er, we have Dead Little Princes pins and tee-shirts and magnets--err, what? The comic itself? Welll, err, I only got to page five so I had to put it off for next year. But hey, I have mugs with the characters' faces on them! 8D" Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I found a place that will print a thousand stickers for only, like, $150 and they can do all kinds of cool stuff like custom cutouts and transparent backgrounds and sticker backing with images on it, but the submission process for the artwork is really confusing and the turnaround time is, like, foreverrr. :( Hopefully I can work it out, though, because then I can plaster subway stations and streetlamps with Twelfthgecko advertisements. Ha ha ha.

Nuuuuuu Music [Feb. 19th, 2007|09:11 pm]
...It sounds like Fall Out Boy were furtively trying to copy some of Panic! At the Disco's tricks for their new album, because it doesn't totally suck. I'm pleasantly surprised.

And Bloc Party's (I almost spelled it Bloc! Party, rofl) new album also isn't as bad as every review I read of it claimed it was (they were all like, OH MY GOD THE DREADED SOPHOMORE ALBUM JUMP OFF THE BLOC PARTY BANDWAGON NOW QUICK QUICK BEFORE WE LOOK DUMB FOR LIKING THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE).

Erm. That's all, really.

I Took A Year Off From School...For This? Roflmao. [Feb. 7th, 2007|12:13 pm]
So, I know you guys kinda wanna see the best stop-motion animation EVER MADE about a daruma and a wind-up Godzilla (actually a LOLzilla) getting into a fight over cake. (This is largely in part due to the fact that this is quite possibly the only stop-motion animation ever made about a daruma and a wind-up LOLzilla getting into a fight over cake.) Because...I am awesome and wasted like eight hours of my life doing this?

Anyway, SUPER FUN TIMES GUARANTEED IF YOU CLICK THIS LINK!!!!11!1onez

It's only two whole minutes of your life that you'll never get back! 8D

Frustration [Dec. 7th, 2006|02:54 am]
I wrote a longer, angstier entry to the effect of,

I am really overwhelmed because even though my show is seven months away, I'm now solidly working seven days a week and see no possible way to budget my time in a way that will allow me to do art, I would stop sleeping except I'm no good at drawing when I'm tired, this is really frustrating.

What I want for Christmas:

If not time off,
then a lot of caffeine pills.

P.S. My cell got shut off because we forgot to pay the bill, sorry if you've been trying to call me or anything.

Well, This is Sobering. [Nov. 16th, 2006|11:26 pm]
You know how I'm always saying I marvel at my life, like how there are certain things I never could have anticipated or expected even in the months before they happen?

Well here's another one for you:

If you had told me seven months ago that one of the eight kids I went to Rome with would be dead before the end of the year, I never would've believed you.

Joe Lucisano hung himself.

I mean, it's not like we were best friends or even good friends or even, well, friends.

But if you had asked me three days ago where I thought Joe Lucisano was going to be today, I would not have said, "In a coffin."

Who Will Save Emo?! Why, Patrick Wolf, Of Course! [Nov. 15th, 2006|05:54 pm]
This from an interview with Patrick Wolf in NME Yearbook:

"I'm more interested in emo than the Arctic Monkeys because first of all the boys look so much better. These beautiful boys! I think it's all fantastic. I went to Chessington World Of Adventures recently and there were hundreds of emo kids everywhere. It reminded me of being 14 and being a glitter kid into Kenickie. When nu-metal was about, it was gross. Not just the dress – the music was also disgusting. With emo, I like that the word 'emo' is based around emotion, it's emotional rock music and I'd love to engage with the emo audience more often. ...Emo reminds me of goth and punk, it's like a religion. For me music has always been religion too, and I see it in those kids, they're really feeling something."

Gentlemen, PLEASE [Nov. 15th, 2006|06:01 am]
I just got back from Panic! At the Disco and they played a really shitty show.

I am so bummed out.

They totally changed their original show, instead of this little circus show with three performers it was like eight slutty girls who weren't nearly as cool as the original ones, they didn't have any of the same acts, Brendan Urie was really listless and let the audience sing almost every other lyric (and when he did sing, he was overpowered by the screeching 13-year-olds), and basically the whole thing was really disjointed and confusing and chaotic and, and, waaaah.

They're pretty much one of the only bands that I genuinely look up to as, like, idols, y'know, like I'm into a lot of different bands but I really idolize Panic! At the Disco in a different way, so…this is so disappointing. *groan* I'm truly…embarrassed for them.

PANIC! AT THE DISCO, YOU GUYS ARE LIKE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN GIVE EMO A GOOD NAME.

PLS STOP SUCKING.

PLS.
